Preinstallation Instructions

The OPK enables system builders to install the .NET Framework 1.1 and version 3.0 redistributable packages for 32-bit and 64-bit architectures. It is easy to integrate into the preinstallation process and can be done by using the NETFX30OEM.BAT FILE. A call to this batch file can be included in the preinstalled applications page of the Setup Manager for an automated installation.

What is the .NETFX30OEM.BAT file? The .NETFX30OEM.BAT file determines whether the computer is running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 software and then allows an unattended installation for the correct version.

How to install language packs Language packs are included in the .NET Framework 3.0 OPK and are required for preinstallation for all non-English operating systems. Individual language packs are in subfolders included in the OPK image and are all called LANGPACK.EXE.

Installing a language pack if it is not invoked during preinstallation:
If no language pack syntax is included when preinstalling .NET Framework 3.0 using the NETFX30OEM.BAT method, the .NET 3.0 OPK installer will automatically install the required language pack to match the regional settings of the computer being installed

Installing a specific language pack:
  1. To invoke a specific language pack installation, you must preinstall the language pack by using the following syntax (after the English installation has completed):
    langpack.exe /q:a /c:"install /q"
  2. Another method of invoking a specific language pack installation is to include the following switch and the three-letter abbreviation for the language pack when running NETFX30OEM.BAT file:
    /langpack:

For example, to include the Brazilian Portuguese language pack you would add
    /langpack:ptb
Download Instructions

The download consists of a single OPK image containing all supported language packs for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures. The image is approximately 700 MB in size and should be unzipped and then burned to a DVD to obtain the individual .NET 3.0 installers.

Additional Information Additional OPK information and syntax can be found in the NETFX30OEM.DOC file located in the downloadable OPK for .NET Framework 3.0.
