Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 Service Pack 1

Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) includes updates and fixes that address a number of issues impacting stability and performance.

To extract and install SP1:
Once you download the Business Contact Manager (BCM) for Outlook 2007 SP1 package, you will need to extract the appropriate .exe file for the language you wish to install.

Follow these steps to extract the .exe file:

  1. Download BCM SP1. The file will be an .img format.
  2. Use third-party DVD authoring software to burn the .img file to a DVD.
  3. Select the appropriate .exe file(s) in the language(s) you need to install and copy from the DVD to your destination computer.

To install this update, follow these steps:

  1. Once you have copied the .exe file(s) to the destination computer, it is recommended that you quit any programs you are running.
  2. In Windows Explorer, double-click the .exe file that you saved to your hard disk drive, and follow the instructions on the screen.

Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 SP1 will install even if a publicly available update has already been installed on your computer.

To remove SP1: You cannot use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel to remove this service pack download. To remove Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 SP1 from a computer, you must remove Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007, and then reinstall Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 from the original 2007 Microsoft Office system CD.

System Requirements

For installations of Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 SP1, the minimum requirements for the system are as follows:

  • Free disk space on the system partition.
    • The free disk space requirement will be roughly five to six times the size of the Microsoft Self-Extractor file.
    • Required disk space when installing via Microsoft Update or Office Update will be slightly less. Most of this disk space will be returned after the installation is complete.
  • This update applies to Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007.

    Issues Resolved with Outlook 2007 SP1
    • Error message when you start a 2007 Office program on a computer that is running Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager: "Office application version does not match." When you migrate data from Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit 7 (ACT 7) to Business Contact Manager, you may receive an error message.
    • Error message when sending an e-mail campaign to more than 1,050 recipients.
    • Link operation failing when searching and linking e-mail messages to business contacts.
    • After you import and assign business contacts, your "to do" list is overwhelmed by follow-up flags from those users to whom you assigned the contacts.
    • Incorrect follow-up flags occur if you flag a contact when you are online and then go offline.
    • Custom fields are not available when you perform a Microsoft Office Word Mail Merge marketing campaign.
    • The insert tab is missing from the ribbon when you install Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007.
    • Outlook may stop responding when you collapse groups in the Business Contacts folder view.
    • When you try to export a report to Microsoft Office Excel, the operation fails.
    • Outlook crashes when a product master list is set using the Software Development Kit (SDK).
    • Business Contact Manager does not obtain custom field changes from the independent software vendor (ISV) deployment tool.
